Last night we had a caelig, which is basically a party with dancing (sort of square dancing, but not really), and where people can get up and tell a story or share a song.
After some dancing, which even I participated in a little, Michelle decided that she should share the Moose Song, a little Canadian content for the Scots. I wanted to join in, but we knew different versions, so I decided not to contribute further to the gong show. It went over reasonably well, especially the part where the other Canadian staying at the Abbey, a Lutheran minister named Craig, jumped into the centre of the room and started doing actions. These were not just actions with his arms, like most people would do. This was like Carlton Banks dancing type actions. I almost died. I'm still laughing now.
Craig, you are our hero.

WHAT??? I want a demonstration when you guys get back.. sounds interesting ?!?!
Geez, you guys know a lot of Michelle's! LOL
Carlton from the Fresh Prince? You are hilarious!
I'm so there for the performance of the Moose Song when you get back. PS. I am in town on the weekend of the 23/24th, I think you should probably go to church that Sunday, and probably we should go out for lunch after. That is if you don't already have plans with one of your many loyal fans who missed you lots too. In which case, I understand. But let me know.
Oh the moose song...I actually don't loathe that one (Joe and the Button Factory *shudder*)...good on you Michelle for bring that to the Scots!
Ah yes, the caelig evening. (Caelig: a word for which there are about a hundred different spellings, depending on which Scot you talk to.)
Good to hear there was laughter for you two as well. I recall laughing quite a bit when Tony went to the caelig while at Iona.
Mostly nervous laughter.
Mostly at myself.
I meant to say "when Tony *and I* went to the caelig. Kinda funny the other way, though, too.
Nelson - that's funny because we even talked about you two and how we suspected each of you would have experienced caelig.
sounds like we were spot on.
